LIGHT TINTING
NOTTINGHAM
To deliver the best possible results, we use only the highest quality light tinting film—Luxe Lightwrap. This premium film is available in two shades: medium and dark. If you prefer a lighter option, we can provide one upon special request; however, please note that this lighter film doesn’t match the quality of Luxe Lightwrap. Because the lighter film requires a wet application, it may not be suitable for more complex light shapes.
Key Features of Our Light Tinting Service:
High-Quality Film: We use Luxe Lightwrap for superior durability and finish.
Shade Options: Choose between medium and dark shades to suit your style.
Special Requests: Lighter alternatives are available, but with some limitations on complex lights.

When it comes to light tinting, we offer two distinct shades: Medium and Dark.
- Medium Smoke: This is the most popular choice, providing just the right amount of tint to achieve that sought-after shadow edition look. It’s perfect for those who want a subtle yet stylish enhancement to their lights.
- Dark Smoke: If you’re aiming for a fully blacked-out appearance, we highly recommend our Dark Smoke option. This shade delivers a bold, deep tint that gives your vehicle a sleek, aggressive look.
Whether you’re going for a subtle change or a dramatic transformation, we’ve got the perfect shade to match your style.

While our light tint isn’t as robust as Paint Protection Film (PPF), it still offers valuable protection against light debris and swirling. If your light tint sustains any minor damage, don’t worry—the film is self-healing. With a bit of heat, ideally from a heat gun, the tint will repair itself, keeping your lights looking fresh and protected.
For those seeking even greater durability, we offer an upgrade to Tinted PPF for an additional £50 per pair. This option provides much more robust protection, is highly scratch-resistant, offers a superior shade, and comes with a 10-year warranty. It’s also glossier and has less impact on light output, making it an excellent choice, especially for headlights. We highly recommend this upgrade for those wanting the best in both protection and style.
UK Light Tinting Laws
In the United Kingdom, there isn’t a specific law governing the tinting of headlights and tail lights. The key requirement is that the output brightness remains sufficient for safe driving. Your headlights must be bright enough to ensure clear visibility at night, and your rear lights must be visible to other drivers after tinting. Our tints are designed to allow light to pass through easily, so you should have no issues complying with these guidelines.

Light tinting for most cars starts at £79 per pair.
However, for larger vehicles like the Transit Custom, the cost may be higher due to the need for additional materials and specialised vinyl, typically priced at £119. Additionally, cars with large extra reflectors, such as the 2022 Audi Q7, may also result in an additional charge of £20.
Pricing

FAQs

At TintTech Nottingham, we prefer to wrap lights rather than use spray tinting. Wrapping allows for easy removal of the tint if you decide to change the look of your vehicle in the future. This method also offers a more durable and long-lasting finish compared to spray tinting, which can easily chip when hit by stones on the motorway. We use high-quality vinyl and precision techniques to ensure a flawless finish every time, providing both style and protection for your lights.

No problem at all! We offer a 12-month warranty on all our wrapping services. If you encounter any issues, simply contact us, and we’ll book you in for a quick and hassle-free resolution.

Medium is by far out most commonly chosen light tint shade... It gives a beautiful glossy finish, very similar to that of tinted lights from factory.
For front lights, tinted PPF is most popular. -
The film we use is a dry application, so you can wash your car as soon as you leave our workshop in Nottingham. There’s no need for drying or curing time. However, we recommend being cautious with pressure washers—while you can use them, some are extremely powerful and could potentially cause the corners of the film to lift. Although this is highly unlikely, it’s always best to keep a bit of distance when using a pressure washer.

Many modern vehicles now come from the factory with tinted lights, and these are completely legal. However, if your vehicle's lights are not particularly bright to begin with and you choose the darker of our two tint options, it could reduce your light output, potentially affecting visibility during nighttime driving. It’s important to consider this when selecting your tint shade to ensure optimal safety and performance.

Yes, light tint can be easily peeled off, often leaving no residue or glue behind. If you decide to remove your tint, we can take care of that for you. If the tint was originally installed by us, we typically don’t charge for the removal.

While a clean car can be helpful, it’s not absolutely necessary.
Exterior:
Please ensure your car’s exterior is relatively clean. It doesn’t need to be spotless, but if there are large amounts of mud or debris—especially from off-roading—we won’t be able to proceed with the tinting. A reasonably clean surface helps us achieve the best possible results.
