Window Tinting Questions

Do window tints go on the inside or the outside?
Window tints are applied to the interior side of the glass, which protects the film and gives a smooth, professional finish. You may see us working on the outside of the glass, but that is just preparation before the film goes on the inside.
What if the window tint is faulty?
Every window tint comes with our lifetime warranty, covering bubbles, peeling, fading or colour changes. If anything is wrong we will re-fit it for as long as you own your vehicle.
What tint shade is most popular?
The most popular shades are 5% limo tint for maximum privacy, 20% factory tint for an original-look finish, 30% medium tint for a balance of privacy and light, and 50% light tint to cut heat and glare. We have a display glass in our office, so you can compare the shades and choose on the day of your appointment.
How long should I wait before rolling my windows down?
We advise waiting at least 5 days after tinting. Your windows still work normally in an emergency, but lowering them too soon can cause the tint to peel before it has fully dried.
Will the police stop me for having window tints?
Not if your tints are within legal limits. Front windows must let through at least 75% of light, and most cars already meet that limit from the factory, so adding tint to the fronts would make them non-compliant with UK road laws.
Can window tint be removed or reversed?
Yes, window tint is fully reversible. We offer a removal service, just call us for a quote, or you can peel the film off yourself and clean any adhesive residue with a glue remover.
Will my vehicle pass an MOT with window tints?
Yes. It is not illegal to tint your rear windows in any shade you prefer, so your vehicle will pass an MOT with rear tints. If you ever have an MOT issue related to tints, contact us and we will help resolve it.
How long should I wait before cleaning my windows?
We recommend waiting at least 5 days so the tint can fully bond with the glass. We thoroughly clean your windows after fitting, so they are spotless when you leave.
Will window tinting affect my rear demister lines?
No. The film is applied directly over your demister lines without causing any damage, and the demister continues to work normally.
Should I clean my car before arriving for window tinting?
A clean car helps but is not essential. Please make sure the exterior is reasonably clean, as excessive dirt or mud can interfere with the tinting process. We clean your windows thoroughly before applying the film.
